What happens to a pasted link?
When you press Download, the link you pasted is sent to this site's own API route so it can fetch the public SlideShare page and return deck information — title, author, slide count, and thumbnails. Slide images are then fetched through a server proxy, so your browser is not blocked by the image host. The link is used only for that single request. It is not stored in a database, not sold, and not used to build a profile of you. The file itself is generated in your browser and sent to you; the site keeps no copy of it as a download history.
Because there is no account, there is also no way for this site to show you a list of your past downloads, and no way to recover a file you downloaded earlier. Each visit is independent: to download a deck again, paste its link again.
What is collected?
In short: nothing that identifies you is required, and nothing account-like is built by the tool. Specifically:
- No account details. No name, email, or password is asked for or stored by the tool, because there is no account to create.
- No download history. The tool does not record which decks you downloaded, and it does not keep a per-visitor history.
- No SlideShare credentials. Never enter a SlideShare password on this site. The tool works only with public pages and cannot use credentials.
- No files kept. A generated PDF, PPTX, or image ZIP is sent to your browser. The site does not keep a library of generated files for you.
- Contact messages only. If you email the site operator, that message is used only to reply to you. It is not added to a mailing list and is not used to track downloads.
What is not collected — and what is deliberately left vague
This site does not run its own account or download-history tracking for the tool, and it does not set tracking cookies for accounts or advertising. Two things are stated carefully rather than absolutely:
- Server and hosting logs. This page does not claim that no server logs exist at all, because logs kept by a hosting provider or content network are outside this tool's control. What is claimed is narrower and checkable: this site itself does not keep a user download history, and it does not turn requests into profiles.
- Analytics. No analytics product is named on this page, because none has been verified as present in the tool's code for this statement. If analytics or advertising is added in future, this page should be updated to name it before it goes live, rather than after.
Third parties
Three outside parties are involved in a download, and only in the ways described here:
- SlideShare. The public page and its slide images come from SlideShare. Visiting SlideShare directly is governed by SlideShare's own practices, which are not this site's.
- The image host. Slide images are fetched through this site's server proxy, so the image host sees the proxy request rather than a direct request from your browser for that image.
- The hosting provider. The site runs on a hosting platform, which may keep its own technical logs as described above. This site does not control those logs, and it does not receive a user download history from them.
No other third party is given your pasted links or your downloads by this tool. Links are not sold, shared for advertising, or published.
Data retention
Because the tool stores no account and no download history, there is no retention period to state for downloads — there is nothing to retain. A pasted link lives only for the duration of the request that uses it. Email messages sent to the site operator are kept only for as long as needed to reply, and are not used for any other purpose.
Your choices
- Do not paste a link you do not want fetched. The tool cannot preview a deck without fetching its public page.
- Do not send passwords, private links, or personal details in a contact message. If a download fails, the deck title and the exact error message are enough — see the contact page.
- You can stop using the site at any time. Since there is no account, there is nothing to delete and nothing to close.
Changes to this policy
If the tool starts collecting something new — for example, if an account, analytics, or advertising feature is added — this page will be updated to say what is collected and why, before that feature is presented as part of the tool. The current version of this page is the version that applies.
